WARKENTIN RESPONDS TO LATEST NDP- LIBERAL ATTACK ON ALBERTA’S ENERGY WORKERS.
Chris Warkentin joined Common Sense Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre reacting to the NDP-Liberals latest attack on Canadian energy workers. Today, Trudeau’s radical Environment Minister announced that the Liberals will be putting in place a so-called “emissions cap” that will kill Canadian jobs, raise the cost of energy and send billions of dollars to dictators overseas.
In response, Poilievre stated, “This is yet another attack by Justin Trudeau on Canadian energy workers and Canadian energy. The government should be working with industry and provinces to reduce emissions rather than attacking them.”
Warkentin was also in Ottawa to react to the announcement. He said, “This is a misguided and dangerous policy. Canadians are already struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and this will raise the cost of Canadians energy higher. After nine years of Trudeau’s gatekeeping anti-energy policies, hundreds of billions of dollars in jobs and investment has been driven out of our province.”
“This announcement poses a direct threat to the Peace Country and I will fight it. This is not just a recipe for an economic disaster; it is a betrayal of hardworking Canadians.” Warkentin concluded.
A common sense Conservative government will support our energy workers, stop sending dollars to dictators overseas and bring home more powerful paycheques for our people.
