WARKENTIN CONDEMNS LIBERAL TAX HAVEN HYPOCRISY

By November 7, 2017No Comments

Today, Chris Warkentin, Member of Parliament for Grande Prairie-Mackenzie, condemned the hypocrisy of Senior Liberal Party operatives reportedly using off-shore tax havens while the Prime Minister and his Finance Minister raise taxes on hard-working Canadians.

“These are troubling revelations,” Warkentin said. “While Prime Minister Trudeau and Finance Minister Morneau criss-cross Canada hiking taxes and calling local business owners tax cheats, their close friends and advisors appear to be avoiding paying taxes in Canada by hiding their money in off-shore tax havens.”

“Trudeau has taken tax credits away from diabetics, increased taxes on employee discounts, and says that local business owners are tax cheats,” Warkentin said. “For Justin Trudeau, tax fairness means forcing hard-working folks in our community to pay more, instead of cracking down on the tax-avoidance schemes used by the wealthiest one percent.”

Justin Trudeau’s policies are hurting the very people that he claims to want to help and Liberal tax hikes are making it increasingly difficult for Canadians to make ends meet. Conservatives believe in lowering taxes and will continue to bring forward a positive Conservative vision for hardworking Canadians.
