Yesterday, NDP members in the House of Commons cheered and applauded the British Columbia NDP Government’s efforts to stop the expansion of the TransMountian pipeline from Alberta to the West Coast.
“The NDP are standing shoulder to shoulder with their counterparts in British Columbia,” Warkentin said. “Their anti-energy campaign is a pan-Canadian collaborative effort to stop Alberta oil and gas from getting to international markets.”
“Both Rachel Notley and Justin Trudeau promised that their imposition of a carbon tax on Alberta citizens would buy “Social License” to build pipelines. Unfortunately, the reality is anti-development organizations continue to oppose the responsible development of our energy sector and Alberta families are forced to continue to pay these unaffordable carbon taxes”.
“I was stunned to see the NDP cheer actions that will cost jobs in the Peace Country and limit prosperity across Canada,” Warkentin said. “Our Conservative Party will always champion the responsible development of our energy sector and support the women and men employed there.”
