Jagmeet Singh votes against his own words and continues to prop up the Liberal government
Last night, the House of Commons voted on a Common Sense Conservative confidence motion based entirely on Jagmeet Singh’s own words. Singh previously claimed to have “ripped up” his supply and confidence agreement with the Liberal government, calling them “too weak, too selfish, and too beholden to corporate interests to fight for people.” Despite these strong criticisms, Singh voted again to prop up this corrupt Liberal government.
Chris Warkentin, Member of Parliament for Grande Prairie-Mackenzie, raised serious questions about the NDP Leader’s contradictory statements and actions.
“Jagmeet Singh’s words and actions don’t align,” said Chris Warkentin. “On one hand, he criticizes the Liberals for their failures on issues like affordability and healthcare. On the other, he votes to keep them in power. Canadians deserve a government that delivers results, not political theatre.”
Warkentin continued, “Once again, he has shown he’s only in it for the pension, not for the people. He continues to ignore what Canadians really want— a carbon tax election.”
It’s time for the NDP to get out of the way and allow Canadians to vote in a carbon tax election so Canadians can choose to axe the tax and bring home a Common Sense Conservative government.
